- I was on a book ordering spree for the upcoming year and this was a happy accident. I'm excited that this book covers lots of grammar; so much so that we won't be ordering an additional grammar book. This is an excellent homeschooling book for the child who is already well skilled in Spelling/Grammar and just needs to stay up to date on her skills. It would also serve as a great refresher for the struggling pupil. I'm glad I accidentally bought it!
- This book has answer key on the same page as the questions. Also, at least a third of the practice pages have to do with dividing spelling words into syllables.
- This is a thick book chock full of different ways to approach spelling. The variety and thoroughness of the approach greatly impressed me - it's clear a lot of thought went into this book. The book has a lot of color drawings throughout that make the book very approachable and fun.
This is probably one of the best books for homeschooling that I have ever purchased and I will definitely buy more in the future.
We have never gone through a Sylvan program so I can say that you don't need to be part of it in order to use the book.
If I had to nitpick, it's that the answers on the same pages as the lessons - I do prefer them to be at the back of the book. - My daughter is staying prepared for 3rd grade this summer with the assistance of these activities. She loves them.
