"The first book in the Bobiverse was cute and spoke to the inner geek in many of us that wanted to explore, defend, and create. It was exciting, fresh, and extremely upbeat.

This book explores the musty attic of the Bobiverse.

There is more drama, and the tone is decidedly **darker**.

Nothing is really resolved in this book either. Even the things that you initially think will be resolved end up being uncertain at best.

That said, Dennis Taylor is a good writer, and the narrator is exceptional.

I recommend this book if you *loved* the first book and want to see where Taylor takes the Bobiverse. If you felt the first book was "meh" then you will want to take a pass on this one. If you are new to the Bobiverse then I recommend that you read/listen to the first book before making any decisions about this one.

This book explores the neurosis of the Bobs. One Bob falls in love with a human woman. One Bob eventually commits suicide. One Bob plays God and becomes morose when rejected by the species he hopes to elevate. Some of the Bobs become sociopaths and refer to humans (and all biological life forms) as "empherials."

You get the dark side of things. Clearly some of the Bobs want to experience life as a living, breathing, sensing creature again, and a lot is made of the android project.

We meet the evil replicants from Brazil again, and the reader thinks that the Bobs have wiped out this threat when it is revealed that they will be "the 'Snidley Whiplash' twirling their mustache in every episode."

The book further explores the Others. We first met their mega-ant-robots in the first book,but by the end of this book the Bobs have so annoyed the Others that they announce their intention to destroy Earth and the Bobs' primary colony stars. Quite frankly, the Others seem like a monolithic threat that the Bobs cannot possibly beat by the end of this book. There are some weaknesses though. The species has confined itself to one star system, and there is one central Queen without competitors. If the Bobs can devise a way to destroy the central hive then all will be well except for the annoying Brazilian shadow threat.

All in all, I will read/listen to Book 3, but I was somewhat disappointed by this outing in the Bobiverse."

• A good first novel is refreshing, but the second is always a test of whether a writer is good or just lucky. "We Are Many" show that Taylor's Bobiverse is not a fluke, and that he is a writer able to capture the audiences attention. The plot elements are often a little hard to keep track of as the Bobiverse fragments and expands, but the stories are compelling, unique and have legs. I look forward to more, whether in the Bobiverse or elsewhere.
• I honestly just wish it was longer.
  I found no problems with this book and can't dock it a star just because I want more.
  I recommend this book to those that love good sci-fi.
• Bravo sir. This is a brilliant second book that left me looking at everything else in my reading queue and going "meh". It took me a couple of days to get around to actually picking up something else as I knew there was nothing else pending that would be remotely as good.
  
  As I just noted in my review of the first installment, the author has done an amazing job of crafting a story where the reader cares more about the Von Neumann machines than the people. While the people are an essential plot element they are very much secondary and far less interesting in spite of their being adequate fodder there for several conventional, and far less interesting, books.
  
  The evolution of the "Bobs" continues to be fascinating and the "Others" provides a necessary plot device for encouraging further growth in that community as the book progresses.
  
  I'm very much looking forward to the next installment.
• Loved it! Listened to it on audio and cannot recommend it highly enough. Audio is the way to go with this series. Ray Porter narrates it perfectly. He captures the essence of each and every "Bob" and delivers the humor in a perfect manner. The story is fun, funny, exciting and at times, even touching. I love all of the "Bobs" senses of humor. This is not a book to read as a standalone. You definitely need to read book 1 first, but that's not a hardship as that one is fantastic too.
  
  If you like your sci-fi with humor, I highly recommend this series. And I recommend it even more on audio. You can buy the kindle book and the audible version for less than $10 I think. That's a steal!

• I really enjoy the book, the story is interesting, it is nice to have the story written from the perspective of an introvert. The only negatives I had had to do with the fact women are practically invisible, present only as minor characters in the form of love interests. All the important characters (even excluding Bob) are male. Also it would be interesting to have others participate in the decision making as the only decision making happens in the bobeverse. Finally the ecologically unsound decisions of eliminating fauna based on how much you like them or not, is rather jarring and aliens being 'evil' because they don't subscribe to our morality is also a bit odd. All that said, I enjoy the series and have already bought the next one.
• Second book of a three book space opera trilogy. I read the POD (print on demand) trade paperback version which has nice paper and fonts. The author is promising the third book in the series late this year. I will purchase and read it.
  
  The Von Nuemann space ship probes captained by the Bob AI have multiplied into 40+ and have now explored over 100 star systems. Things have gone both good and bad. And the "Others" now know about the Bob probes and Earth due to their capture of the Chinese Von Neumann probe.
  
  The evacuation of Earth due to the fast moving ice age is not going well. The fifteen million survivors on Earth are slowly starving to death as the crops have now totally failed and all of the food is coming from orbital farms.

• Love and highly recommend... exactly the help so many of us need.
  
  Zoë Kim is a voice of calm and reason to help guide you through your journey to a saner, happier life. Among the books I've read on this topic, this one is the most helpful. The author's writing style is clear and friendly, totally non-judgmental, and naturally inspiring. You easily sense that she's speaking from her heart and personal experience. Rather than press readers to follow her precise path, she provides you with useful questions and practical tools to discover what you need to know to find your own best path forward.
  
  There's an abundance of practical suggestions and thoughtful approaches here, all clearly laid out and presented in a logical order. This book will surely inspire many people to give minimalism a sincere try. And, I believe most will have a realistic hope of succeeding and maintaining a level of "less" that improves their family's lives because of the thoughtful guidance about the emotional aspects of making the transformation within yourself and within a family.
  
  I highly recommend this book if you truly want a calmer life, one that allows you to focus on what means most to you. Families will find guidance in this book that I've not seen elsewhere, and even if you don't have a young family, the book is extremely helpful and definitely a worthy use of your time.
• So much minimalism is written by single men who live on the road. This book got into the mechanics of minimalism for people who live with other people. She also helps you get through different rooms.
• Simple to read and practical. Many books in this genre have a better-than-thou tone. Not here. Kim’s book has a kind/encouraging tone and was easy to read. Her tips were practical and flexible, I definitely got done good advice from this book, and I’ve been reaseaching a simpler more streamline lifestyle for my young family for a while. Well worth the read.
• It was helpful to get me started. A little la-de-da in spots but you just roll your eyes and take from it what you can use. Within several days I had gotten rid of 13 bags of stuff from my bedroom and I have been dilligent about not bringing new things in.
• It has good tips and some great foundational stuff but it’s for families with older kids. Not relatable for toddler life imo.
• This book lived up to my expectations and I've read a lot of simple living/minimalism books. Zoe does a great job of walking you through each area of your home and how you can declutter and simplify. There are tons of practical tips that are doable and relevant for todays' families. While it is a book about families, it can just as easily apply to someone single or a a couple. The tips on doing this with kids though is very helpful. highly recommend if you're looking for help to declutter and simplify.
• I loved this book! Not only for the practical tips on HOW but even more so for the emphasis on the WHY! Zoe laid out several reasons why a family may want to implement a more "minimalist" lifestyle and really helped me understand if I didn't have a good grasp on my "why" I would never follow through! I really took this to heart and figured out my "WHY" and then the rest just fell into place. I can honestly say I am already breathing easier and feeling less stress as my house becomes clutter free for the first time in years!
• Full of practical ideas. I love this book because it is full of things you can actually do rather than being a book of abstract philosophy. It has helped me focus on what is really important for me to do and eliminate time spent dealing with things I don't actually need in my life.This book has helped me achieve more freedom from the chains of a cluttered sometimes chaotic life. No more running hither and fro stealing my life from myself because of so many trivial things that now seem wholly unimportant.

The Greek language has a written history of more than 3,000 years. While the classical, Hellenistic and modern periods of the language are well researched, the intermediate stages are much less well known, but of great interest to those curious to know how a language changes over time. The geographical area where Greek has been spoken stretches from the Aegean Islands to the Black Sea and from Southern Italy and Sicily to the Middle East, largely corresponding to former territories of the Byzantine Empire and its successor states. This Grammar draws on a comprehensive corpus of literary and non-literary texts written in various forms of the vernacular to document the processes of change between the eleventh and eighteenth centuries, processes which can be seen as broadly comparable to the emergence of the Romance languages from Medieval Latin. Regional and dialectal variation in phonology and morphology are treated in detail.

• This book truly is exceptional. Other readers have commented on it being life changing, and I do believe that to be so. I am in the early stages of the book as well, and have thumbed through it. Well organized and beautifully written--except I find it very difficult to read anything that addresses a singular noun and then keeps jumping to plural. " If your child"...."they". The early pages are rife with this. Just make a comment at the beginning of the book that you will refer to he or she throughout.
  
  That said, I like the way the author refers to the toddler psyche. Toddlers don't have a mean bone in their body, for example. So true. It really has helped me remain so calm when our little toddler begins to have a toddler melt down. These are very few in occurrence and I think the advice this book shares contributes to her well being.
• Toddlers are torn; they want to help, and don't, want to cuddle, and be left alone. They are wise and yet irrational. This is a much needed book among "Montessori" parenting books. Many of these talk about setting up activities for academics, this book is about setting up the home environment for success and growth in all areas. And, because the needs of toddlers are unique, it is geared for parents during this wonderful, complex period.
  
  Any parent of any toddler will learn so much, AND the book itself is lovely!
• I bought this book to have a clearer understanding of how to prepare my toddler for Montessori preschool. I figured it would be easier on her if I already used a few methods at home instead of enrolling her in a school where everything is different than she is used to. The layout made the Book very easy to read and mark ideas I want to incorporate or revisit. An unexpected bonus is it gave me a better understanding that the "montessori" pre-schools that I have toured locally are not up to snuff and I feel more knowledgeable about what I am looking for in a quality Montessori program.
• This book has been a total life changer for my family and I! Even though we are well versed in Montessori, Simone's book gives fantastic practical tips for dealing with the 'challenging toddler years' in a downright gorgeous layout. She offers tools and tips that not many other books do, such as specific language recommendations or age appropriate activities. We were fortunate to get this book one year ago (from Kickstarter) and it has made all the difference in approaching the 'terrible twos' (which are really more like the 'talismanic twos'!) Our son has become an example to other families and we are so grateful to Simone for providing us the tools to parent compassionately and truly follow our child. This book is an absolute must have for raising a toddler, montessori or not.
• My son just turned one and I was originally interested in this book because it mentioned raising "curious and responsible human beings" which is very much what I want. I am so glad I bought it! The book is very easy to read, has excellent recommendations for activities and ways to adapt everyday chores to allow toddlers to participate. I just really like the philosophy or treating toddlers with respect and giving them independence to be themselves and develop at their own pace. I have already recommended this book to other mom friends )
• I am only 24 pages in and I am loving this. Davies write in such a concise and clear way to teach readers about the Montessori approach! The layout of the book is simple, organized, and easy to navigate. I can’t wait to dig in further!
• i really love this book. it has everything you need for new parents and parents of toddlers.
  
  it teaches you the montessori way of doing things at school and it inspires me to use the ideas at home when they are not at school, even if they don't go to a montessori school during the day.
  
  it also has tips for parents towards the back of the book, which i appreciated very much. This book is not just about toddlers but its for the parents of toddlers as well. Every new and current parent can use the insights in this book if they want to have ideas on how to improve or change the way they parent. You really need to have an open mind about it going in or else there's no need.
  
  it has book recommendations too and diff books mentioned throughout the book that has a brief tip on what that book is teaching. which is great because you don't need to be reading all the diff parenting books.
• This is so much more than a book about Toddlers. The strategies and information that Simone Davis shares with her readers have the ability to transform your home life. She truly has a gift for changing one's perspective of the early stages of life. As a mom of 3 and Montessori program director, I encourage everyone I meet to get a copy of this amazing guide!

• Having been to Guatemala several times I wondered if there would be much new information in Deborah Chandler’s most recent book, A Textile Travelers Guide to Guatemala. What a revelation! One should never underestimate Deborah or Thrums Books, who consistently put out beautiful, thoughtful, informative books.
  
  The focus of this book is on discovering and understanding the beautiful Maya textiles of Guatemala. Whether you are planning your first trip or have been there 10 times, if you love textiles, this book has something for you.
  
  The book is divided into An Introduction to travel in Guatemala, including things travelers may need to know before they go. Then six chapters covering the major regions important to textile tourists. And finally, “Off the Beaten Path”-- a quick overview of eleven less frequently visited regions where one can also find interesting textiles. Each major chapter includes information about local Mayan languages, market days, saints’ days and major holidays celebrated in the region, as well as transportation options and important landmarks. There are recommendations for artisans one can visit, weaving teachers, tour guides and other insider tips for readers interested in the local textiles. There are descriptions of weaving techniques and looms used in various regions (although, for even more detailed information see the author’s last book Traditional Weavers of Guatemala.) Finally, a textile glossary helps clarify words that may be translated differently in Guatemala than in standard language dictionaries. This comprehensive information is invaluable and hard to find, especially all in one book!
  
  Thrums Books are always filled with eye candy gorgeous photos of gorgeous people, places and textiles and this book does not disappoint. For this reader, photos of people’s faces will always be the most compelling, but who can resist the volcanoes, festivals, old colonial buildings and, of course, the carefully explained photos of (traditional) textiles.
  
  And yet, what I appreciate most about this book is the even-handed context setting. It does not pretend to compete with well-known guidebooks full of hotels and restaurants, although each section includes a few of each. Rather this is primarily a book that explains how different textiles are constructed, and where to find specific things in the rapidly changing textile scene in Guatemala. The author also takes on the hard stuff the effects of colonial history on Guatemalan culture today; the effects of global markets and cheaper imports on locally handwoven clothing; poverty and relationships between buyers and sellers; cultural appropriation of both actual textiles and traditional symbols that are then “repurposed” for first world tastes.
  
  I had been to Guatemala recently, but my reaction to this book was an urge to take notes and start planning my next trip. It is a compelling guide to a beautiful country that has an astounding variety of weaving and embroidery.
