- This is a wonderful book, filled with facts about Antarctica from the view point of a young woman who is serving in the Air Force. I love the rhyme to the story- so important for beginning readers, who will be able to predict the next word. I can see this book being appropriate for any child interested in geography or aviation. Or, it would be a great introduction to either of these topics. The illustrations are great! I often purchase books to use as gifts for the children in my life. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series!
- What a great children's book! It's a fun, adventurous and educational read for kids and their parents. Air Force Amanda is a positive, intelligent, and ambitious character for the girls and boys to look up to and read about. My daughter's class enjoyed it as well. Love the illustrations! I highly recommend!
- I bought this for my one-year-old, thinking she would enjoy it a few years from now. But it's already one of her favorites! (As in, she actively seeks it out among piles of her other books.) The illustrations really capture her attention, and I'm looking forward to when she can understand the story. As an active duty mom, I'm happy to see a kids' book about a person in the military who also happens to be a woman. Hoping this does become a series!
- Great read for the kids, our girls are 10 and 11 so it didn't take them long to complete it, they both liked the pictures from Amanda in the back of the text.. Looking forward to reading more of her adventures.
- Amanda i loved the telling of your story to your daughter in book form. I will enjoy reading this to my nieces and nephews. You should write more books on your adventures as well as the 109th crews!
- This book has made my daughter’s nightly favorite list. She loves that the author stated the character is from the same place she’s from. Beautifully illustrated and kept my 4 year old’s attention very easily.
