Willow Falls Matt Bannister Western Book 1 eBook Ken Pratt Reviews
- Perhaps the best description of this book is the proverb "old sins cast long shadows" and by the Scripture "be sure your sins will find you out". Multiple lives across two generations are distorted; first by vengeance then by a betrayal. Some will not like the Christianity. Some will question the theology. But the themes are about the human condition that is common to us all, believers and unbelievers alike.
- I enjoyed this book with no words to describe how much. Author is an excellent writer. It is truly a typical life story and states how our Lord loves, guides, and protects us thru life circumstances if we will only believe and call unto Him.. He is ever present with those who believe in Him. There is ONLY ONE TRUE AND LIVING GOD. HE REIGNS. If you do not believe you are missing out on some of the sweetest blessings you will ever experience and there is no relationship to compare.
- KSP has written about a man who becomes a US Marshal known throughout the a southwest. He has maintained his religious beliefs as he has hunted the worse elements of the criminal society. His reputation as a Deputy US Marshal has led him through many dangerous and hazardous manhunts. His family remains part of his life and they keep his feet attached to the ground. This ius an excellent read for the genre.....ER
- This is my first Ken Pratt book. I didn't realize that Willow Falls is a 'Christian Western' and was pleasantly surprised.
Willow Falls is a novel about mistakes and forgiveness, familial and marital love, hope and salvation, friendships, betrayal and guilt, justice and injustice - about the good and the evil that men do.
There were a few typos, but not enough to detract from the story. Though the writing isn't bestseller material, in the author 's note, I believe he says something like his intent is to bring hope into people's lives. He succeeds in doing so. I found Willow Falls to be uplifting.
Sadly, Christianity has been under attack in our country. Unfortunate, because Christianity provides us with a moral compass. I believe it was strongly woven into America's foundation and has been instrumental in America's greatness. Good to find an author who embraces Christianity and includes God in his writing.
I enjoyed Willow Falls. A very pleasant change from my usual fare of SyFy, legal and medical dramas, FBI thrillers, serial killers, espionage...
Happy reading! - When I started to read this book it drew me in and never let go until the very end. Would recommend Ken's books. He has put all a person could hope for, action, love, the message of God and the problems that are dealt with in real life. Ready for next book about Bannister.
- I enjoyed this book [3 1/2 stars]. At first it was a bit thick to get into, but once past that it picked up speed and was a good novel. As a cowboy novel, as a western novel - it is fine and purchase of it for your will not be a waste of your money.. One thing that was bothersome was the intrusive Christian bias of the author. I am not Christian, and no doubt there are other readers who are Jewish, Wiccan, Islamic, or such, who find the same as I. Most western novels a reader will vicariously attend a Christian wedding, or a preacher saying humble and holy words at a funeral, and such. I have no problem with that. This book went quite a bit past that. That said I enjoyed everything else about the book.
- I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the characters. I couldn't wait to read his second Bannister book. Loved it too. Can't wait for the third. And unlike so many of the kindle westerns/mountain man books, it had very few grammatical and punctuation errors...bad editing drives me nuts. I think he rivals many well-known authors in this genre.
- For me the continued religious references detracted from the story. They also got in the way of character development a little. Nice atmosphere, tension and slow reveals of the back story were very effective. Splendid bad guys but a lot of characters coming and going, many of them preaching, made parts of the story more complex than they needed to be.
